Who wants a STIFFY?

The Seattle True Independent Film Festival, or STIFF, as it is more commonly known, has a very interesting mission statement, “As film festivals across the country strive to raise their profile, they continually pass over inventive, risk-taking films so they can give a sneak preview of the new Jennifer Aniston film a week before its world-wide release. Somebody needs to help these TRUE Independent gems find an audience on the lookout for the unusual.”

And now for a real, real trailer!

OK, OK, teasers have their place and perhaps by now, you’ve been teased. Say hello to the real deal.. The official “A Night in the Sunlight” trailer:

Sunlight Is Locked (Exclamation Point)

Today we locked the picture. That means that all of the shots that tell this story are arranged in the order that they need to be. From here on out, these won’t change. The music and audio, however, will change. The audio will get cleaned, sweetened, balanced and music will be added.

Yes, yes, yes, that obnoxious laugh coming from the sidewalk outside our location will be evicted from the film. Read the rest of this entry »

Sunlight Sees Daylight

My second film “A Night in the Sunlight” is quickly nearing completion. Presently, we’re less than a week from locking picture. After that, we’ll sweeten the sound, color correct all of the pictures and send a timecoded copy off to Kelli Rudick so that she can compose the score. To give an idea, or maybe just to tease, I’ve assembled two trailers for the film. One is called “Teaser 1,” the other, “Teaser 2.” Read the rest of this entry »

It’s a Sign for Sunlight!

Some good news: February 1st was the final deadline for the Seattle International Film Festival. On that day, I personally submitted a rough cut of “A Night in the Sunlight” to the festival offices where I asked if the submission fees could possibly be waived. The man who took my envelope and listened to my question furled his brow Read the rest of this entry »

The 4th of ‘07

It may have taken me a while but the result is worth the wait. This is a music video I made from select photos taken one very special night last summer. It’s pretty self-explanatory… except for the main characters, who are my friends Matt & Alex. So sit back, turn your speakers up and hit it to the full screen for the full effect!

GMGS is going to SF!

My short film “Gimme Music, Gimme Shelter” will play the 10th Annual San Francisco Independent Film Festival February 7-19, 2008.

GMGS will be screened twice in a series called “Who Loves Ya, Baby?” which is a bundle of films described by the festival as being “In pursuit of new love and renewed commitments to old.”

Sat, Feb 9 2008 12:30 pm Roxie Cinema
Sun, Feb 10 2008 2:45 pm Victoria Theater

If you come out to a screening, be sure to say hi. I’ll be at both. In the back. Vomiting into my popcorn bag.

What are you longing to do? And when are you going to do it?

Good message in church today; it started like this:

What do you long for?
Who is most important to you?
What is most important?

This next part stood out to me:
